The announcement comes on the heels of another massive turnout for the festival in 2026. Attracting 350,000 visitors, the event generated nearly $23 million in economic benefit for the Australian Capital Territory.
Interstate interest reached new heights this past year, drawing 20,808 non-local visitors—a significant increase from 15,664 in 2025. The festival continues to serve as a major tourism driver:
- Over 75% of out-of-town visitors expressed interest in returning to explore more of Canberra.
- 87.5% of all attendees indicated they plan to return for the 2027 festival.
