
This National Science Week, explore science through Indigenous and Western perspectives at the Indigenous Science Experience in Redfern.
This free community event showcases Indigenous and Western STEM knowledge and their importance in everyday life.
Visitors can enjoy interactive science activities designed for all ages. Activities include bush foods, medicines, weaving, virtual reality, and science experiments.
Yarning sessions with Elders will share knowledge about traditional foods, medicines, and caring for Country. Participants can also explore sustainable seaweed practices.
Cultural performances will highlight connections between people, culture, and the natural world. Indigenous student leaders will help demonstrate activities.
Presenters include South Coast Seaweed, Bush to Bowl, Indigibee, Yaegl Elders, Birdlife Southern NSW, and Rayma Johnson.
Supported through Inspiring Australia, the event is organised by the National Indigenous Science Education Program and Macquarie University. The Redfern Community Centre proudly hosts this community celebration
